A video and photography campaign for BASICS International to increase awareness for their grassroots community development program in Chorkor, Ghana.

BASICS International is a grassroots organisation operating in Ghana, West Africa. BASICS is working to empower the community of Chorkor and other areas in Ghana, through investing in education and providing holistic services to children.

This was a passion-project and one-woman crew production. Jess flew to Ghana and spent three weeks at BASICS International collecting footage and learning how the organisation worked to support it's community of Chorkor.

Part of the trip also included working with some of the older students at the centre who were interested in media and journalism. A short news-report style documentary ‘Chorkor Xtra' was created to celebrate the unique aspects of the community of Chorkor.
